Back in the State of the Union address, Georgie Pordgie railed against cloning because those crazy Godless scientists would use the technology to make human-animal hybrids, as if it would be their priority to splice a turtle shell to a soldier's back or something...

And then today I finally got around to watching The Island. The ethics behind the plot aside (and I'd grow me a new body with two whole lungs in a heartbeat), why would anyone want to make humanimals when they could make a killing selling "product" like Ewan McGregor and Scarlet Johansson?

Just think of the money that could be made, politicians.
